Anti-GATA1 Antibody Picoband® Fluoro647 Conjugated
Product Specifications
Background
GATA-binding factor 1 or GATA-1 (also termed Erythroid transcription factor) is the founding member of the GATA family of transcription factors. The protein plays an important role in erythroid development by regulating the switch of fetal hemoglobin to adult hemoglobin. Mutations in this gene have been associated with X-linked dyserythropoietic anemia and thrombocytopenia.

Immunogen
E.coli-derived human GATA1 recombinant protein (Position: M1-E203) .
Clonality
Polyclonal
Tissue Specificity
Expressed in prostate cancer cell lines at generally higher levels than in normal prostate epithelial cell lines. Isoform 1 is expressed in kidney, testis, lung, trachea, and retina. Isoform 2 is retina-specific where it is expressed in rod and cone photoreceptors. .
Applications
Flow Cytometry
Field of Research
Protein Phosphorylation, Ser/Thr Kinases, Signal Transduction
Purification
Immunogen affinity purified.
Form

Function
Essential for the regulation of ciliary length and required for the long-term survival of photoreceptors (By similarity) . Phosphorylates FZR1 in a cell cycle-dependent manner. Plays a role in the transcriptional coactivation of AR. Could play an important function in spermatogenesis. May play a role in chromosomal stability in prostate cancer cells. .
