Anti-POMT2 Antibody Picoband® Fluoro594 Conjugated

Product Specifications

Background

Protein O-mannosyl-transferase 2 is an enzyme that in humans is encoded by the POMT2 gene. This gene is mapped to chromosome 14q24.3. The protein encoded by this gene is an O-mannosyltransferase that requires interaction with the product of the POMT1 gene for enzymatic function. The encoded protein is found in the membrane of the endoplasmic reticulum. Defects in this gene are a cause of Walker-Warburg syndrome (WWS) .

Synonyms

Protein O-mannosyl-transferase 2; Dolichyl-phosphate-mannose--protein mannosyltransferase 2; POMT2

Gene Name

POMT2

Gene ID

29954

UniProt

Q9UKY4

Host

Rabbit

Reactivity

Human, Mouse, Rat

Cross Reactivity

No cross-reactivity with other proteins.

Immunogen

A synthetic peptide corresponding to a sequence at the N-terminus of human POMT2, which shares 61.9% amino acid (aa) sequence identity with both mouse and rat POMT2.

Clonality

Polyclonal

Tissue Specificity

Highly expressed in testis; detected at low levels in most tissues.

Applications

Flow Cytometry

Field of Research

Organelles, Subcellular Markers, Tags & Cell Markers

Purification

Immunogen affinity purified.

Form

Liquid

Function

Transfers mannosyl residues to the hydroxyl group of serine or threonine residues. Coexpression of both POMT1 and POMT2 is necessary for enzyme activity, expression of either POMT1 or POMT2 alone is insufficient.
