Anti-Prostaglandin E Receptor EP2/PTGER2 Antibody Picoband® Fluoro488 Conjugated

Product Specifications

Background

Prostaglandin E2 receptor (53kDa), also known as EP2, is aprostaglandin receptor for prostaglandin E2. It is encoded by the human gene PTGER2. It may be associated with aspirin-induced asthma. PTGER2 is mapped to chromosome 14q22. This gene encodes a receptor for prostaglandin E2, a metabolite of arachidonic acid which has different biologic activities in a wide range of tissues. Mutations in this gene are associated with aspirin-induced susceptibility to asthma.

Rabbit

Reactivity

Human

Cross Reactivity

No cross-reactivity with other proteins.

Immunogen

A synthetic peptide corresponding to a sequence at the C-terminus of human PTGER2, different from the related mouse sequence by four amino acids, and from the related rat sequence by three amino acids.

Function

Receptor for prostaglandin E2 (PGE2) . The activity of this receptor is mediated by G (s) proteins that stimulate adenylate cyclase. The subsequent raise in intracellular cAMP is responsible for the relaxing effect of this receptor on smooth muscle.
