Anti-RBPMS (OTI3B7-GP) Recombinant Guinea Pig Chimeric mAb

Guinea pig monoclonal recombinant chimeric RBPMS antibody from clone OTI3B7. Validated in WB, IHC, ICC, flow cytometry and purified by Protein A chromatography.

Product Specifications

Background

RBPMS (RNA binding protein with multiple splicing), also known as HERMES, contains one RRM (RNA recognition motif) domain and belongs to the RRM family of RNA-binding proteins. RBPMS exists as multiple alternatively spliced isoforms and is thought to bind RNA, possibly playing a role in RNA-related events, such as transcription and translation. RNA-binding proteins that are specific to retinal ganglion cells (RGCs) have been previously identified as excellent markers for RGCs (Kwong et al., 2010) . Recent findings show that antibodies against RBPMS are robust reagents that exclusively identify RGCs in multiple mammalian species (Rodriguez et al. 2014) .

Short Description

This guinea pig RBPMS recombinant monoclonal antibody takes the place of our 1832-RBPMS guinea pig polyclonal antibody. It is a chimeric antibody, combining the antigen-binding variable region of mouse clone OTI3B7 with the constant region of the guinea pig IgG molecule, making it perfect for reproducible multiplexing. It detects human, mouse, and rat RBPMS and works in WB, IHC, ICC, and flow cytometry.

Notes

This recombinant antibody is a chimeric antibody created by replacing the mouse heavy and light constant regions of clone OTI3B7 with guinea pig IgG heavy and light constant regions. As such this antibody retains the same binding performance as the original clone OTI3B7 but can be detected using standard anti-guinea pig secondary antibodies allowing flexibility for multiplexing applications. This antibody is expressed recombinantly in mammalian cells and then affinity purified from the cell culture media.
