Caffeoylmalic acid is an orally active hydroxycinnamoyl-malate ester found in stinging nettle (Urtica dioica) . Caffeoylmalic acid exhibits anti-diabetic, anti-inflammation and anti-oxidant effects. Caffeoylmalic acid shows cytotoxicity to cancer cells. Caffeoylmalic acid can be used for the researches of cancer, inflammation and metabolic disease, such as colon cancer and diabetes[1][2][3].
