Hexane-2,5-dione
Hexane-2,5-dione (2,5-HD) is a cytotoxic agent. Hexane-2,5-dione causes an accumulation of neurofilaments within axons in rats that may lead to their degeneration. Hexane-2,5-dione is promising for research of neurodegenerative diseases (e.g., Alzheimer's, Parkinson's) [1].
