It contains an azide group and can undergo copper-catalyzed azido-azynylene cycloaddition (CuAAc) with molecules containing an alkyne group. It can also undergo ring-strain-driven alkyne-azido cycloaddition (SPAAC) with molecules containing DBCO or BCN groups.
