DBCO-PEG8-Maleimide is a PEG derivative consisting of DBCO, PEG units, and Maleimide. NMaleimide forms a stable thioether bond with sulfhydryl (-SH) groups. DBCO-PEG8-Maleimide contains a DBCO group, which can undergo a strain-promoted alkyne-azide cycloaddition reaction (SPAAC) with molecules containing an azide group[1].
