Cefovecin
Cefovecin is a third-generation cephalosporin antibiotic. Cefovecin's most notable characteristic is its extremely long-lasting effect; a single subcutaneous injection can maintain an effective therapeutic concentration in tissues for up to 14 days. Cefovecin is used in research on bacterial infections in dogs and cats[1].
