7,8-Didehydroastaxanthin
7,8-Didehydroastaxanthin is a major carotenoid found in Crown-of-Thorns Starfish. 7,8-Didehydroastaxanthin is an oxidative metabolite of diatoxanthin. Carotenoids are important biological active, and may regulate cellular differentiation, growth control, photooxidative protection, cell membrane stability, photosynthesis, vision process and nutrition[1][2].
