(rac) -α-Carotene is the racemate of α-Carotene. α-Carotene is a carotenoid and potent antioxidant. Serum α-Carotene concentrations are inversely associated with the risk of all-cause mortality, cardiovascular disease, cancer, and mortality from all causes other than cardiovascular disease and cancer[1].
