Thiamine triphosphoric acid ester

Thiamine triphosphoric acid ester (TTP), a neuroactive compound, is a triphosphate derivative of the vitamin thiamine. Thiamine triphosphoric acid ester exists in microorganisms, animal organs and plants. Thiamine triphosphoric acid ester is transiently produced in response to amino acid starvation in E. coli, while constitutively producing at a low rate in mammalian cells. Thiamine triphosphoric acid ester can be synthesized by two different enzymes (AK1 in the cytosol and FoF1-ATP synthase in brain mitochondria) . Thiamine triphosphoric acid ester has a basic role in cell metabolism or cell signaling[1][2].
