Methyl 2-O-β-D-glucopyranosylbenzoate (Methyl salicylate 2-O-β-D-glucopyranoside) (Compound 11) is a phenolic compound. Methyl 2-O-β-D-glucopyranosylbenzoate can be isolated from the leaves of Metapanax delavayi. Methyl 2-O-β-D-glucopyranosylbenzoate has anti-benign prostatic hyperplasia activities and significantly inhibits the proliferation of BPH-1 cells. β-Phenylethyl β-D-glucoside can be used for prostatitis research[1].
