Tetraethylammonium (fluoride tetrahydrofluoride)
Tetraethylammonium (fluoride tetrahydrofluoride) (TEAF THF) is an inorganic compound containing both fluoride and ammonium ions. It is commonly used as a reagent in organic synthesis, especially in the production of pharmaceuticals and agrochemicals. TEAF THF has a strong basicity and can be used as a catalyst or activator for various chemical reactions such as esterification and aldol condensation. In addition, it can also be used as a fluorinating agent for converting hydroxyl groups into fluorine-containing groups.
