GZMA/granzyme A is enriched in cytotoxic T cells and natural killer cells and can induce caspase-independent pyroptosis after delivery to target cells. With substrate specificity for lysine or arginine residues, GZMA cleaves APEX1 and the nucleosome assembly protein SET, thereby disrupting their activity.
