Human azurocidin (Cationic protein 37)

Human azurocidin (Cationic protein 37) is an enzymatic inactive homolog of serine proteinases. Human azurocidin has a broad spectrum of antimicrobial activity, mainly against gram-negative bacteria. Human azurocidin induces longevity and differentiation of monocytes to macrophages. Human azurocidin is also recognized as a multifunctional inflammatory mediator[1].
