3-Hydroxymycophenolic acid (Compound 5) is a microbial transformation product of Mycophenolic acid (HY-B0421) by Cunninghamella echinulata. 3-Hydroxymycophenolic acid has low cytotoxicity against AGS cells and fibroblasts. 3-Hydroxymycophenolic acid can be used for immune-mediated renal diseases research[1].
