Melicopicine (NSC 402921) (Compound 2) is an acridone alkaloid. Melicopicine is a 1,2,3,4-tetraoxygenated acridone precursor, which can be co-isolated from S. megistophylla and detected by GC-MS in the extract from S. follicularis[1].
