Endonuclease VIII is a DNA repair enzyme that excises oxidized pyrimidines from DNA. Endonuclease VIII is a bacterial DNA glycosylase/AP lyase that excises modified pyrimidines, including thymine glycol (Tg), uracil glycol, dihydrothymine, dihydrouracil (DHU) [1].
