D-myo-Inositol-2,4,5-triphosphate (sodium salt) can open calcium channels and increase intracellular calcium upon binding to its receptors on the endoplasmic reticulum. D-myo-Inositol-2,4,5-triphosphate (sodium salt) also acts as a partial agonist at rat hepatic IP3 receptors.
