The amino group can react with other chemical groups (such as carboxyl, aldehyde, etc.) to form stable chemical bonds. DBCO-PEG-Amine (MW 5000) contains a DBCO group and can undergo a strain-promoted alkyne-azide cycloaddition reaction (SPAAC) with molecules containing an azide group[1].
