Galectin-3-IN-6
Galectin-3-IN-6 (Compound 12) is an orally active inhibitor of galectin-3 (Gal-3), with an IC50 value of 12 nM and a Kd value of 13 nM for Gal-3. In a mouse model of acute liver injury and fibrosis induced by CCl4, Galectin-3-IN-6 can significantly reduce the levels of fibrosis markers collagen-1 and α-smooth muscle actin (αSMA) by 64% and 71%, respectively, showing significant anti-fibrotic activity. Galectin-3-IN-6 can be used in the research of fibrotic diseases, cancer, and cardiovascular diseases[1].
