Antimicrobial agent-39
Antimicrobial agent-39 (Compound 8i) is an antibiotic that targets 50S ribosomal subunit and inhibits bacterial protein synthesis. Antimicrobial agent-39 disrupts bacterial cell membranes, leads to leakage of cell contents, thereby exhibiting board-spectrum actibacterial activity. Antimicrobial agent-39 targets organic cation transporters (OCTs), accumulates in infected kidneys, thereby ameliorating pyelonephritis in mouse models[1].
