Chloramphenicol 1-acetate (Compound III) is a microbial transformation product of Chloramphenicol by Streptomyces coelicolor. Chloramphenicol 1-acetate is the major product of Chloramphenicol acetyltransferase I (CATI) by regioselective acetylation of C21 hydroxy groups in steroids[1].
