Aspergillus niger-IN-1 (Compound 17), a derivative of thiazolidine-2,4-dione, acts as an antimicrobial agent. Aspergillus niger-IN-1 exhibited antimicrobial activity against various bacterial and fungal strains, including Bacillus subtilis, Staphylococcus aureus, Klebsiella pneumonia, Escherichia coli, Salmonella typhi, Candida albicans and Aspergillus niger, with MIC values of 11.3, 5.65, 11.3, 5.65, 5.65, 5.65, and 5.65 μM/mL, respectively [1].
