Hela/calcium indicator stable cell line
Hela/calcium indicator cells are derived from the human cervix adenocarcinoma Hela cell line by stably integration of a GCaMP6m calcium indicator construct. "GCaMP6" is a genetically encoded calcium indicator used in neuroscience research. It belongs to a family of fluorescent proteins that can detect changes in intracellular calcium levels within living cells. When calcium ions bind to GCaMP6, it undergoes a conformational change that leads to an increase in fluorescence. The Hela cell line has been widely used in cancer research and drug development. Hela/calcium indicator cells stably express GCaMP6m, can be used for monitoring calcium dynamics. Understanding the role of calcium dynamics in cancer biology is important for the development of targeted therapies aimed at modulating calcium signaling pathways to inhibit cancer growth and metastasis.
