Iodoacetamido-PEG8-acid is a PEG reagent featuring an iodoacetamide group and a carboxylic acid moiety. The terminal carboxylic acid reacts with primary amine groups in the presence of activators (such as EDC or HATU) to form stable amide bonds. The iodoacetamide group acts as an alkylating agent and can covalently bond with thiol groups.
