BocNH-PEG8-CH2CH2COONHS is a PEG linker containing an NHS ester and a Boc-protected amine. The hydrophilic PEG spacer enhances the water solubility of the compound in aqueous environments. Under mild acidic conditions, the Boc group can be removed to form a free amine. The NHS ester is useful for labeling proteins, amine-modified oligonucleotides, and other primary amine (-NH2) containing molecules.
