The Boc groups can be removed under mild acidic conditions to yield free amines. These amino groups can react with carboxylic acids, activated NHS esters, and carbonyl compounds (ketones, aldehydes) . Spermidine, a polyamine, plays a role in regulating various cellular activities including cell growth and differentiation, DNA stability, and apoptosis.
