Bathophenanthrolinedisulfonic acid disodium

Bathophenanthrolinedisulfonic acid disodium salt (BPS) is a colorimetric reagent for detecting iron ions with a measurement wavelength of 535 nm. It is suitable for iron determination in aqueous systems without the need for solvent extraction. Additionally, BPS can be used to prepare Europium (III) bis (meso-phenanthroline disulfonate) and ruthenium (II) tris (meso-phenanthroline disulfonate) complexes or to form water-soluble complexes with palladium for the catalytic oxidation of 2-hexanol.
