Tryptone

Tryptone is a common ingredient in biological media. It is derived from the enzymatic digestion of animal tissue (pancreas) protein by trypsin, resulting in polypeptide peptones. Tryptone primarily consists of peptones, small peptides, and amino acids from casein hydrolyzed by trypsin, providing essential nutrients such as nitrogen and carbon sources for bacterial growth.
