A2[3]G1F1 (?-1-3) glycan contains asymmetric Lewis X polysaccharides and N-glycans. SLeX serves as a ligand for the cell adhesion molecule E-selectin, which is specifically expressed at sites of inflammatory lesions. Conjugates of SLeX-glycans can be designed to deliver drugs to inflammation sites.
