Filiformin ((-) -Filiformin) is a sesquiterpenoid compound that can be isolated from Laurencia filiformis forma heteroclada. It exhibits cytotoxic properties against P388 and BSC-1 cells. Additionally, Filiformin has antibacterial activity against Bacillus subtilis, Trichophyton mentagrophytes, and Candida albicans. Moreover, at a concentration of 150 ?M, it inhibits oxygen uptake in rat liver mitochondria.
