Talaroterphenyl A (compound 1) is a p-terphenyl derivative isolated from the fungus Talaromyces sp. SCSIO 41412, found in mangrove sediment. It acts as a phosphodiesterase 4 (PDE4) inhibitor with an IC50 of 1.2 μM. Additionally, Talaroterphenyl A exhibits anti-inflammatory and antifibrotic properties, significantly reducing mRNA levels of pro-inflammatory cytokines IL-6, TNF-α, and IL-1β.
