Melanoxazal is an inhibitor of melanin biosynthesis, effectively suppressing melanin formation in silkworm larva hemolymph with an IC50 of 30.1 ?g/mL, and it also exhibits strong inhibitory effects on mushroom tyrosinase (IC50 of 4.2 ?g/mL), while lacking antibacterial activity.
