DPPI-5-P (ammonium) (PtdIns- (5) -P1) can be phosphorylated to form diphosphate esters, such as PtdIns- (4,5) -P2. Additionally, DPPI-5-P (ammonium) can be cleaved by phosphatidylinositol (PI) -specific phospholipase C (PLC) to produce inositol triphosphate esters.
