DSPE-PEG1-azide (DSPE-PEG1-N3) is a lipid-containing azide compound that can form micelles for use as drug delivery nanoparticles. It serves as a reagent for click chemistry and features azide groups that participate in copper-catalyzed azide-alkyne cycloaddition reactions (CuAAc) with alkyne-containing molecules. Additionally, it undergoes strain-promoted azide-alkyne cycloaddition reactions (SPAAC) with molecules containing DBCO or BCN groups.
