Stearic acid-PEG-CH2CO2H (MW 3400) is a lipophilic thiol-reactive PEG polymer. The stearic acid segment is effective for encapsulating hydrophobic therapeutic agents, while the PEG chain enhances overall water solubility and biocompatibility. In the presence of activators such as HATU or EDC, the reaction between carboxylic acid (-COOH) and amine (-NH2) forms stable amide bonds through condensation. Reagent grade, for research use only.
