Serving as a cleavable ADC linker, N-Butanoyl-L-homoserine lactone (C4-HSL) is employed in the synthesis of antibody-drug conjugates (ADCs) . This compound also exhibits antimicrobial activity, making it useful in combating bacterial biofilms. Additionally, N-Butanoyl-L-homoserine lactone aptamers are employed to inhibit quorum sensing and prevent the formation of Pseudomonas aeruginosa biofilms.
