Biotin-PEG3-benzophenone is a biotin-labeled benzophenone. Benzophenone serves as both an endogenous metabolite and a photosensitizer, implicated in DNA photodamage. It can lead to oxidation of nucleobases, formation of cyclobutane pyrimidine dimers, single-strand breaks, DNA-protein crosslinks, or abasic sites, potentially causing a variety of lesions in nucleosides, oligonucleotides, or DNA.
