SCy5DL-amide is a fluorescent D-amino acid designed for peptidoglycan labeling across a broad spectrum of bacteria, encompassing gram-positive, gram-negative, and mycobacteria strains. It demonstrates exceptional incorporation into the Gram-positive B.subtilis. This compound enables the imaging of labeled bacteria using single molecule localization microscopy (SMLM), also known as PALM or STORM, with excitation/emission maxima at 646/666 nm.
