5?-Pregnane-3?,20?-diol, an active metabolite of progesterone, is synthesized through intermediates 5?-pregnane-20?-ol-3-one and 5?-pregnane-3?-ol-20-one from progesterone. This compound, at a concentration of 10 µM, elevates intracellular calcium levels in washed isolated human platelets.
