Ru3 is a poly (ADP-ribose) polymerase 1 (PARP1) inhibitor that induces apoptosis in MCF-7 cells via several mechanisms, including DNA damage induction, inhibition of DNA repair, alteration of cell cycle distribution, reduction of mitochondrial membrane potential, and elevation of intracellular reactive oxygen species (ROS) levels [1].
