Drosocin

Drosocin, a 19-mer cationic antimicrobial peptide from Drosophila melanogaster, displays biological activity. Native drosocin features a disaccharide moiety linked to a mid-chain threonine residue, whereas the synthetic variant, which maintains the identical amino acid sequence but lacks the disaccharide, exhibits significantly reduced activity compared to the natural form.
