FtsZ-IN-5 is a potent inhibitor of FtsZ, promoting polymerization while inhibiting its GTPase activity, preventing bacterial division and leading to cell death. It exhibits bactericidal activity without significant induction of bacterial resistance and rapid bactericidal effectiveness. FtsZ-IN-5 also demonstrates low hemolytic activity and minimal cytotoxicity towards mammalian cells [1].
