Bioactivity
SMTIN-T140 (compound 6a), a potent TRAP1 (tumor-necrosis-factor-receptor associated protein 1) inhibitor with an IC50 of 1.646 ?M, exhibits anticancer activity by inducing mitochondrial dysfunction, elevating mitochondrial ROS production, and activating AMPK. Notably, SMTIN-T140 effectively suppressed tumor growth without discernible in vivo toxicity in a PC3 prostate cancer cell-xenografted mouse model [1].
