RS-102221 is a selective antagonist of the 5-HT2C receptor with a K i of 10 nM, demonstrating nearly 100-fold more selectivity for the 5-HT2C receptor over the 5-HT2A and 5-HT2B receptors. This compound not only has the potential to promote the differentiation of new nerve cells but also increases food intake and weight gain in rats.
