It functions as a click chemistry reagent, utilizing its azide group to participate in copper-catalyzed azide-alkyne cycloaddition reactions (CuAAC) with alkynyl-containing molecules. Additionally, it can engage in strain-promoted azide-alkyne cycloaddition (SPAAC) with molecules containing DBCO or BCN groups, exhibiting excitation/emission at 546/610 nm.
