PPAR? agonist19 (Compound 5e) is a PPAR? agonist with an IC50 of 11.27 ?M for COX-1 and 0.05 ?M for COX-2. It enhances glucose uptake in rat hemidiaphragm assays more effectively than pioglitazone. Additionally, PPAR? agonist19 reduces hyperglycemia and insulin resistance in type 2 diabetic rat models and protects against renal and lipid damage caused by metabolic dysfunction.
