CL5D is an activator of the protein deacetylase SIRT6. It significantly enhances the deacetylase activity and catalytic efficiency of SIRT6. CL5D modulates SIRT6 activity by promoting its conformational changes, particularly relying on the Arg-65 residue. This compound can be used to study the activation mechanism of SIRT6 and its roles in metabolism, DNA repair, and aging.
